Hi all

We had the most interesting day yesterday flying to Chicago and on to Kansas City. The day started early as we had to get to Heathrow airport. The shuttle bus dropped us at the wrong Terminal so we had to walk the underground tunnel over to the other Terminal. We checked in and went though all the security checks and finally got into the terminal to have breakfast. We found a table where there was another couple and discovered they were from Queensland.
After a 3 hour wait we were then directed to the boarding gate which seemed to be miles across the terminal. it took 20 minutes to walk there. We eventually boarded a 767 jet and got ready for take off. As it ran down the runway it started to rattle and creak a lot then as it took off a lot of water came out of the vent all over Nana. After 8 hours we eventually landed at Chicago.

We had to get across to Midway to catch the flight to Kansas City. Well.... the first person we asked directed us one way. No. Then someone said we had to go to Terminal 1. We got there - no signs so we asked a Policeman with a big ferocious dog. I thought I was history. He was able to direct us to the train but as we were going that direction Julie said she would rather go in a Limo. Well we were tired and I thought maybe the Shuttle or a taxi and as we were talking a man asked us were we needed to go. He offered us a good price so we agreed and next thing we were in a Mercedes Limo speeding towards Midway.
At Midway, we looked at getting an earlier palne but it was full. We had to wait for 5 hours for our flight so we had some Lunch and sat down. After a few hours we were informed that there was a dely for another 2 hours as the plane needed maintenance. Nana lay down on the floor and had a sleep. Eventually we boarded the plane and as we taxied the pilot said the the flight would take a bit longer due to storms in the area. A 1 hour 20 minute flight took over 2 and a half hours and was very bumpy.
At about 2.30 in the morning James Baldwin picked us up and took us to his home to find a bed.
A 26 hour day!
Love you all
Nugget
