Hi

We started the day with a breakfast on the beachfront. The choice of food was huge. Lots of good stuff like fruit and pastries followed by eggs, bacon, hash browns, fish, ham and turkey. While we ate we also talked with a lovely Hawaii woman who filled us in on a lot of information about the islands and how to say some of the words like "aloha". I explored the beach and talked to the chef.

After breakfast it was a walk along the beach and through the shopping centers. As we walked along the beachfront we saw many people out on the surf breaks. There were also outrigger canoes and sail boats. It was a lovely walk after such a great breakfast. We had a snack lunch and back to the hotel for a rest before heading out to a traditional Lu'au at Paradise Cove.
As we walked along the road we came across some birds. They were very friendly and Nana and Poppa had a hold of them.

In the afternoon we were picked up at the hotel and driven 15 Hawaiian minutes ( 45 ordinary minutes). We were greeted with Lais, Nana got a flower one and Poppa got one with seed pods. As we walked around the grounds there were all sorts of craft activities and displays of Polynesian Life. I was concerned when I heard that La'ua means "hole in the ground" and is where they cook their meat. I found out it was a pig they were cooking so I breathed a little easier.

After the demonstrations we sat down for the traditional feast. There were some interesting foods but generally it was good. Then it was time for the dancing. I liked the fire dance best but Nana and Poppa liked a dance that was part of a love song; they were like young teenagers - YUK!
We were really stuffed by the end of the evening so time to sleep.
Luv ya
